Frequently Asked Questions

  • Lighting not only ensures an attractive presentation of the food, but, depending on the design, can also help maintain the temperature.

Inappropriate lighting can dry out food, cause it to discolor, or lead to faster aging. Specially designed lighting minimizes these effects.

  • Lights for heated display cases must be heat-resistant, made of food-safe materials, provide uniform illumination, and must not negatively affect food quality.

Furthermore, they must be easy to clean, as daily cleaning is standard. Smooth surfaces and robust materials are therefore crucial.

Our ACR FoodLight HT stands for heat resistance up to 80°C, homogeneous illumination, an easy-to-clean aluminum housing with a plastic diffuser, and the selection of the optimal light color for each product group.

  • The optimal light color for food warming display cases is generally in the warm white range (2700–3000 Kelvin), as this light makes food appear particularly appetizing and creates a pleasant, sales-promoting atmosphere.

In addition, there are special, spectrally optimized lighting solutions that are specifically tailored to different food products. These lights enhance certain color ranges in the light spectrum to highlight freshness characteristics, such as a richer red for meat or a warm, golden color for baked goods. This makes the products appear not only more visually appealing but also of higher quality.

ACR FoodLight HT is produced with 2700 K (Special Warm White Food) as a standard. Additional color spectra are available upon request.

We would be happy to advise you so that you can find the right light for your needs.

  • The drying out of food in heated display cases can be effectively reduced through a precisely coordinated interplay of light and heat.

Crucially, this involves using specially developed lighting solutions that impart as little additional, uncontrolled heat to the products as possible while simultaneously preserving the food's moisture.

Unsuitable light sources can dry out the surface of food, negatively impacting its quality, taste, and appearance.

  • In many cases, yes. Retrofitting is often straightforward, especially with modular LED systems.

Energy savings, improved product presentation, and reduced maintenance often mean the investment pays for itself quickly.

LED lights produced by ACR can be easily retrofitted. We would be happy to advise you.

  • Modern LED systems require little maintenance and are designed for continuous operation in everyday retail environments. They often achieve tens of thousands of operating hours.

Our ACR LUMINA FoodLight HT can been in operation for over 60,000 hours, depending on the ambient temperature.

PERFECT LIGHTING FOR YOUR FOOD PRESENTATION

Make your food shine

LUMINA FoodLight HT was specially developed to optimally showcase food in heated display cases, hot counters and food service areas.

With a specially tuned light spectrum, it highlights warm tones, ensuring that dishes such as golden-brown baked goods, crisp vegetables, or juicy meat dishes appear particularly fresh, appetizing, and appealing without any loss of quality or drying out.

The light is particularly heat-resistant and designed for continuous use in warm, humid environments. This makes it ideal for restaurants, bakeries, snack bars, or buffet counters.

Furthermore, the modern LED technology saves electricity costs, is durable, and virtually maintenance-free.

Thanks to its compact design, LUMINA FoodLight HT can be used flexibly. It is available in various lengths and can be installed quickly and easily in a wide variety of display case and counter solutions.

Typical applications include:

  • hot food counters
